Hi! I’m Shannon, but you can call me Shan for short. I’ve been a professional photographer since 2021, so I’m now going on 4 years of calling this my full time career, but it was a hobby long before that.

My photography career began at a prominent photo studio based out of Denver, Colorado called From The Hip Photo.

I began with From The Hip as an intern and after about 4 months, they offered me a full time role as a lead photographer on their team. They trained me in all things commercial photography which is why I’m specialized in so many different types of photography and why you’ll see their logo in so much of my portfolio.

In 2023 I left everything I knew to head down to Central America for 3 months time to solo backpack and volunteer on Workaway stays. Once I returned to the U.S. I settled in Phoenix, Arizona where I began Shan Strong Photography and my spiritual photography brand - thirdeyephotoandfilm.com.

While in Phoenix, I was given a shuttle bus very randomly. So, I spent February-August of 2024 learning how to build out a bus and converting it to my home on wheels. Now I’m on the road and my photography is coming with me.

I am currently in the sunny San Diego area and yes I update this as i go!

I’m a traveler, a storyteller, and lover of life! I’m always down for an adventure and if you want to hike to a remote location to elope or ski down a mountain for your wedding day - I’m down for anything.

I would describe my photo style as true to color and true documentary. I give cueing for posing when needed and if there’s anything really awry like a hair sticking way out of place, I’ll let you know. However, more than anything I try to adapt and assimilate into the background of your day to capture everything as is. I believe you are meant to truly enjoy the moments that I’m there to capture - my goal is for you to find presence on your wedding day, event, or with your family and friends.
